Pros: Bulbs are super bright 6000K Light weight and compact. We've had our '95 Explorer just over a year. For some reason the high beam pattern is a little funky but I can live with it. Customer service was very professional and amazing and highly recommended. Getting these lights allowed me to utilize the potential of having high beams. I did have to adjust the aim of the headlight housing's down a bit, but I'm sure that's typical when using anything other than halogen. .
It is usually a terrifying thought not knowing whether the road ahead of you is straight, or the transition curve to the edge of the mountain. Most definitely bright enough for me to keep and use. The installation took me less than 30 minutes about 5-7 minutes for some sheet metal customization work--see video and the connections snap in firmly. Our pics aren't very scientific but it gives a. I originally ordered these and received a defective pair. We are very happy with our results! So you're wondering why only 4 stars? I decided to take a chance on these bulbs and I was first very impressed with the packaging. I can actually see the road far ahead.
I have only had them in a couple days so time will tell about the quality. The connections to factory plugs and within the ballast to bulb were very well designed and gave me confidence in the durability of the product. Only took me an extra couple minutes to adjust. I wasn't sure how much of a difference there was until I actually drove the truck and I tell you what, it has left me verrrrry impressed thus far! As a chemistry major, I felt more confident in a bulb where i understood what was going on and why it didn't work when it quit working. At this point, I'm very satisfied and give them a big thumbs up. The product package was professional and high quality.
They are perfectly white and are much better than any halogen bulb, and they are truly plug and play. Well the only reason has to do with the fit. I don't think it says anything in the instructions about adjusting them but you can do it. Kinda got tired of the 10-15 second warm up time for the hid's. The lights put off a very white light without appearing to be in the blue spectrum or any other color; colors are cool, but they do not penetrate darkness due to their shorter wave length. And I do get the low beam out error message on my dash. Plus the instant on is great.
I did have to adjust the locking ring from the factory setting to find a good beam pattern. Still not as bright as the 35 watt hid's I was using but they're just barely behind those for brightness. A two year warranty is provided as well, which is way better than I have ever gotten out of any. The trick to bright fog bulbs is to get the high-powered type that require a fan. The actual product itself was very well built to my surprise as you never really know what you're gonna get when you order online! I have always replaced my low beams in the past since I use them every day. These bulbs have a perceived color of 6000K and are rated at 6000 lumens. But the seller reached out to me and send me a new set for my troubles.
Shop around and get a more expensive kind. My low beam pattern is great. Bear in mind our new headlamp assemblies have smooth surfaced lenses as opposed to the fluted factory lenses. The best leds I've tried so far. Where I do use my high beams are when I cruise on mountainous roads at night.
I will update this review if they give me issues before the warranty expires. Requested a refund and thought of taking business elsewhere. There are two other slots on the ring for you to try different ways the led's are facing to find the right pattern. . . .
